I would also like a bit of free space in the table top to rest my arms and have a physical pen and paper to jot my ideas down... I have back problems because the table is too high compared to the seat. I can't wait to get an ergonomic chair. I think I'll then set up my things like "Brooklyn Home Office, Minimized, At Night" is. It seems like a relaxing workspace, with that view outside the windows, not to mention the natural light that comes by day.
