I have found once you get past the vast amount of technical sounding names when creating 3D work its actually more intuitive and easy to understand than some 2D programs because you can see the results so clearly. – Which reminds me keep you eyes peeled for more 3D S MAX tuts here at Digital Art Empire.

Business cards are also a great insight into the ...]]> Business cards are an excellent way to exercise our creativity as designers. We have a chance to brand ourselves with an exclusive and unique feel.

Taking a look tough this large collection of 150 cards should inspire you, if you don’t have the time just bookmark it for later. As you can see we rounded up a selection of not only extraordinary designs but practical and simple artwork that get the message across.

Business cards are also a great insight into the print process, high quality business cards without full-color photographs are normally printed using spot colors on sheet-fed offset printing presses. Some companies have gone so far as to trademark their spot colors (examples are UPS brown, Los Angeles Lakers’ purple, and Tide’s orange).

If a business card logo is a single color and the type is another color, the process is considered two color. More spot colors can be added depending on the needs of the card. With the onset of digital printing, and batch printing, it is now cost effective to print business cards in full color.

T shirts are like posters that people wear, and posters are a designers dream because they allow so much creative freedom. Apart from using less colours as possible to keep costs down T shirts have a massive amount of freedom and control for the designer.

Here are some amazing T shirt facts .

- Today, ninety-one percent of Americans profess to owning a “favorite” T-shirt.

- Sixty-two percent claim to own more than ten t-shirts (that alone is 1.5 billion T’s!  Line them up, and they’d circle the globe 34 times!)

- Thirty-four percent say white is the color of their favorite T-shirt, nearly doubling the votes received by the second and third choices: blue and black, respectively.

- Overall 70 percent of men and 54 percent of women have more than 10 t-shirts.

- Of the younger crowd (18-24 years old) 79 percent have more than 10 t-shirts.

- 19 percent of that younger group owns more than 30 t-shirts.

- Results were tallied from a survey sponsored by Jerzees Activewear(a division of the Russell Corporation) and conducted by Opinion Research Corporation International, which posed t-shirt questions to 1009 adults.

HDR is a technique photographers use by taking multiple shots with different exposures and using a piece of software to blend them together.

In more technical terms it ‘allows a greater dynamic range of luminance’s between the lightest and darkest areas of an image than standard photographs’.

The merging can be done in Photoshop CS2 and above but if you just want  this effect it can be re created with one image using Photoshop.
