Logos are some of the most important things that a company should have as they help to create identity and boost sales. Some of the logo design trends that have been used in the past ten years include:

Use of pixels- this refers to the use of picture elements where the symbols are reduced to look like small colored squares and are located at specific positions within the images. These are very essential when it comes to digital images which motivated individuals to use large pixels as part of the logo designs. These normally look abstract and basic. They are also colorful which helps to make the logo eye catching.

Use of 3D effects- this was generally used to introduce something fresh and new in the logo market. It was adapted after the introduction of 3D movies in the entertainment industry. This is where the simple transparency shape is applied to a basic shape to come up with an organic effect that will impress the person who is watching it to prompt them to find out the products that are behind the logo. The transparency effects and the 3D bubbles are very arousing one of the main reasons why the logos that are made this way are very effective.

Use of waves- this came in to replace the use of swooshes that had being used for a very long time. The logo design trends are mostly used to inject flexibility and flow to the design. Designers also use the fade technique from one color to another to depict movement. One can either use one wave or many and they are also available in different shapes where one can choose the one that is most appropriate for their logo.  They are usually not easy to use but after mastering the technique, it becomes a downhill task as one is able to create the desired effect.

Use of transparency- this has been one of the favorite design as it has remained fashionable for a very long time. One of the major reasons for this is because it helps to showcase a level of elegance within the logo as one is able to use various elements to come up with a unique and special image. Here one is able to make perspectives that bring out ideas of connection, combination, development and growth to come up with a logo that will definitely attract theviewers’ attention.

Minimal fonts- these are mostly used to show typography to depict a more underground type of feeling. This is one of the most popular logo design trends that are used by very many people. This is where one uses minimal fonts and fewer elements. The technique is mainly based on simple and basic shapes with minimal design. This is mostly used by companies that want to impress the conservative people in the society to avoid creating confusions. They are very easy to read and understand which helps them to be effective. One doesn’t usually get the message immediately which prompts them to look further to get the clear message.

ROYAL CABINETS
In an age of progressively automated manufacturing and fabrication processes, the Royal Cabinets are an aggressive expression of labour. Assembled from a contractor led design approach, the cabinets draw on highly skilled local craftsmen and artists to produce the fantastical. Staged within the proposed baron ‘facadescape’ of a financially fragile Canary Wharf, the Cabinets are programmatically charged with the loss of yet another great British labour force, Royal Mail.

ROYAL RE-FORMATION
The film attempts in part to graphically abstract the construction of the Royal Cabinets, In a dream-like labour of love. This abstracted reformation is a metaphor for this labour as well as representing the ‘architecture of pieces’ nature to the project. With the obsession for the object the film focuses on an assemblage of immense intricacy as the material slowly clusters to form the sculptural mail markets. Once formed the focus stays with the object, now in the form of the ornamentally re-branded building parts, before the nocturnal mail markets come to life, transforming into red jewels in the urban cityscape, becoming misplaced curious objects in themselves which have a strange visual balance of fragility and aggression.

Marinina was born in Lviv, Ukraine to a family of lawyers. She studied the personality of criminals with anomalies of mentality and criminals who have committed repeated violent crimes. She resigned from the militsiya system to become a full-time writer. Before her resignation, she had the rank of the lieutenant colonel of militsiya.

Marinina has written over 30 novels, published in over 17 million copies and translated into over 20 languages. Most of her novels have a common central character Anastasia Kamenskaya. Marinina has received several awards. In 1995 Marinina received the prize of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the best book about the work of the Russian militsiya, for the books Death for the Sake of Death and Away Game. She was recognized as “The Writer of Year” by the 1998 Moscow International Book Fair, based on the sales of the books in 1997.

These designs are from the end of 2010 and beginning of 2011 so they are totally fresh and mostly unseen .

Glenn Jones is a freelance graphic designer and Illustrator based in Auckland, New Zealand having worked in the design industry for 15 years focusing on packaging, corporate identity and illustration Glenn moved onto T shirt designs

Not only are these designs very well drawn they are very clever and humorous, which is what makes these designs so unique and appealing. His amazingly well draw and funny Illustrator designs are very popular and have received massive attention.

After a few years success designing tees at Threadless.com and a whopping 19 T shirt designs printed ,Glenn decided to join some US based friends to create his own range of T-shirts, Laptop Skins, Calendars and Free iphone Wallpapers at GLENNZ TEES. Citroën Survolt is a concept electric racing car produced by Citroën and presented at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show.

The Survolt is a small-sized racing car based on the concept car REVOLTe presented at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. Because the car runs on battery power alone it is classed as a zero-emissions vehicle.

Design

The Survolt is 3.85 metres (12.63 feet) long, 1.87 metres (6.14 feet) wide and 1.20 metres (3.94 feet) high and features an irreverent design with the front dominated by the vehicle’s badge located above the large oval-shaped grille.

The car has horizontal LED headlamps which have lower power consumption than traditional filament bulbs, important in a battery-operated vehicle.

At the back the Survolt maintains the light cluster design used on the REVOLTe, and has a spoiler to increase rear downforce.

From the art direction in the video animation to the photography and the website  and of course the actual car design itself we can clearly see impeccable design. As a graphic designer  we should find it easy to appreciate good object design especially with such a positive “green” machine.

Websites are created for web users to visit them and buy the products and services being sold or to simply increase the web user’s knowledge in relation to the website’s content. A website should therefore be structured to enhance accessibility and most importantly the ease of navigation around the website.

A website’s typography is very important when it comes to maintaining visitors’ interest. A poorly structured website, in terms of typography, is unlikely to sustain visitors’ interest. This article offers a guide to choosing web fonts which is guaranteed to structure your website in line with standard website requirements.

The first tip to use when selecting web font is to ensure that it serves your website well in terms of making your content legible Font and legibility go hand in hand, since the font size determines whether your website’s article will be readable or not. Make sure that you select a font size which makes it easy for visitors to read your site content without having to squint or decrease the magnification of the web page. The typeface you pick is similarly important. Reading can be boring when the typeface used has a similarly boring appearance.

Helvetica is a commonly used font for websites and it is recommended to step away from commonly used typefaces and try out other appealing typefaces for your website. However to be on the safe side stick with Helvetica which fits into every web design and works well with both small and huge fonts. Websites typically use different typefaces in the website’s different sections. These typefaces should pair well with each other to avoid a mismatched outlook. The best way to pair fonts is to try different fonts and find those which work well together. You can also try to change font sizes to make typefaces pair well especially in the case of headings and article bodies.

When it comes to selecting the font size; readability should be the determining factor. However headings usually give people difficulty when it comes to font selection. The rule is that the heading’s size should be large enough to attract a reader’s attention, but small enough to fit well in a web page.

Similarly the best way to choose a heading’s font size is to try out different sizes and settle for one which works well for your content. The spacing between lines of texts, also known as leading, is also important in enhancing the readability of text. Generally large sized texts work well with huge spacing while smaller texts are more appealing with tight spacing.

The color of a website’s text is equally important in enhancing readability. The contrast created by the text’s color and the background color should work well for the content and increase legibility. Black text against white backgrounds is commonly used for web content.

Whichever colors you decide to go with should work well with each other and most importantly enable the text to be read. The layout all the typography is presented in is another important aspect of maintaining readers’ interest. Grids should be used when designing type to provide balance and a geometric structure to the website’s design.
